Isaiah 17:7-8

“At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel. And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.”

In the midst of the judgment of God some people turned back to God.They renewed their vows to God. They would not look to idols and other things they had trusted instead of the Lord. Many times people trust the temporal things of life to give them eternal security.By this I mean many put all their efforts into climbing the corporate ladder, or living in a fancy house etc. There is only one thing a person can do in the day of trouble and that is to look to God.In I Thess. 1:9 we are instructed “to turn to God from idols to serve the living and true God.”To whom do you trust in your day of trouble?

Call on Me when you are in trouble and I will rescue you
