Thought from the Word

II Corinthians 5:21

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

In this chapter we are told about reconciliation. Our sins have separated us from God so there is broken fellowship between us and God.This relationship needed to be corrected so God sent His Son to reestablish this fellowship between mankind and Himself.Jesus paid the penalty for people’s sins – this removed all that stood between God and humans. There on the Cross an awesome spiritual transaction took place.Jesus became sin for us, He took our sins, but gave us His righteousness.I can’t understand every detail of all of this but God tells us it is so and I believe His Word.God’s faithful love for His people endures despite our times of unfaithfulness.God’s covenant of blessings is His assurance of His presence in our life.It replaces the shame and disgrace of the sin that was in our life. What more can be said. The benefits from God are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord – His true children.

Those who belong to the Lord are to leave their sin behind
