A THOUGHT FROM THE WORD
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
Have you ever thought what worshipping God really is?I like to think of it this way.Worship is loving God – it is honoring God – knowing God for who He really is – it is adoring Him and obeying Him. Here is a little story to illustrate my point: “Years ago when the billionaire Howard Hughes died, his company’s public relations director asked the casinos in Las Vegas, where Hughes owned multiple casinos, to show him respect by giving him a minute of silence. For an uncomfortable sixty seconds, the casinos fell eerily silent. Then a pit boss looked at his watch, leaned forward, and whispered, “Okay, roll the dice. He’s had his minute.”Is that the way we worship God?Run into the church auditorium (late) give God “His hour” then run out forgetting God for another week. Our worship of our God should be our top priority.I Corinthians 10:31 puts it this way whatever we are doing we are to do it for God’s glory.God gives us a day – Sunday, He gives us a guide book – the Bible to use every day, He gives us a building to meet in – our church, He gives us a Pastor-teacher so let’s make our worship of God our top priority.
He who puts God first will have joy that lasts.
