Thought for the Word

Psalm 3:3

“But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”

A wonderful promise is in this verse. We see God is our shield. One commentator writes the word for shield is a substance so thick that it is like a hide of a crocodile. There is nothing that can get through His defense. But here is the best part He lifts up our head.“Here is a child standing before his father very discouraged with his head hanging down because of his failure. His father gently puts his finger under his son’s chin and lifts his head so their eyes meets and encourages him with kind words.”Sometimes we may get discouraged and our heavenly Father lifts our head high once again.Allow me to ask you this question:Do you have a heavenly Father that can lift your head up?

Our God is not only our Savior but also our “lifter-upper”
