Thought from the Word

Psalms 40:8

“I delight to do thy will, O my God:”

“I delight to do Your will” has been my desire for the past 62 years.I can’t say that I always fulfilled that desire but nevertheless that is what I wanted to do.I never had that desire till I was 24 years old when I got saved. In fact that was the farthest thought from my mind until I got saved. The thought of being a preacher never entered my mind until about a year after I was saved when I felt the call to preach. The Lord laid on my heart to get some Bible knowledge but I did not know where that would lead me.He led me to get my gospel gun loaded and then go out and fire it.For the next 41 years that is exactly what I did whenever and wherever I could.I have been retired for 16 years but I am still trying to get the Word of God out whenever and wherever I can. This should be every Christian’s life’s motto: I DESIRE TO DO YOUR WILL.”Is that your life’s motto?

The Gospel was not meant merely to reside in our intellect, memories and tongues –but to be seen in our lives
