A THOUGHT FROM THE WORD
“Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
These verses are telling us the importance of a daily walk with the Lord and modeling our life after Christ. One thing we as believers are to do is to strive to be like Christ. We can think about a lot of things in our spiritual journey and get off the main thing which is to be like Christ. One has said this is the main thing. So the main thing in a believer’s life is to keep the main thing the main thing. It was D.L. Moody who said, It is better to say, “this one thing I do” than to say, “these forty things I dabble in.”There are so many things crowding into our calendar---just make sure we don’t crowd out our Lord.
Concentrate only on continuing to become more and more like Christ
