Thought from the Word

Exodus 16:8

“…for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.”

Does God really hear every discontented word which I ever speak?Does He hear when I grumble about the weather, about the hard winter, about the late spring, about the dry summer, about the wet harvest?Does He hear when I grumble about the frosts, about the drought, about the high winds, about the storms?About my circumstances, about the hardness of my lot, about my losses and disappointments?Does God really hear all I say?Yes He really does. If we understood this thought would we murmur and complain about everything as we are doing now. "He who complains of the weather—complains of the God who ordains the weather!" William Law.We are to be careful of every word we speak so as not to grieve the heart of our heavenly father.

We must give an account on judgment day of every idle word you speak!
