A THOUGHT FROM THE WORD
“And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.”
Our Lord foreknew the weakness of His disciples yet He kept them near Him and allowed them to be His intimate friends. We should note that our Lord does not cast off His believing people because of our failures and imperfections. He knew what we were before our conversion -- wicked, guilty, and defiled; yet He loved us. He also knew what we would be after conversion — weak, erring, and frail; yet He loves us.So let us take comfort in the fact we are His children and He gives promises that He will stay by our side our side until He takes us home to glory. There we will be granted the privilege of being His intimate friend throughout eternity.Oh, how undeserving we are.
How sweet will Heaven be, when our toilsome journey on earth is ended
