A THOUGHT FROM THE WORD
"O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.”
I have a bracelet the reads “Pray first, Pray right, pray often.” One day I told the Lord I would pray about things first before trying to repair them myself. A few days later as we were sitting in the living room we thought that inside of the house was getting warmer. I checked outside the house and the A/C unit was not working. So I began to check the fuse box, pulling this and that, then went outside to check again. It still did not work. I tried this and that but to no avail. About the fifth time of going out and checking I felt that still small voice saying: ”You have failed the test about praying first.” I stopped right there and prayed, and as I did I heard the unit start up. That happened about a year ago. You may think did that really happen? --- it really did happen. I have not forgotten that experience, but I still have to be reminded, “Did you pray first?” I guess I will never learn to pray first.
Prayer: we must want (or need) something, and must realize our dependence upon God for it."
